Shock the System Foundation ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through compliance with this Privacy Policy ("Policy").
This Policy describes:
- The types of information we may collect when you download, install, access, or use the Meadow mobile application, dashboards, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform");
- How we use, disclose, and protect that information; and
- Your rights and choices regarding your information.
This Policy applies only to information collected through the Platform and electronic communications sent through the Platform.
This Policy does not apply to:
- Information collected offline;
- Information collected on other Company websites not governed by this Policy; or
- Information collected by third parties through external websites, apps, or services that may link to or be accessible from the Platform.
By downloading, creating an account, or using the Platform, you agree to this Policy.
01Children Under the Age of 13
The Platform is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information.

02Information We Collect
We collect information:
- Directly from you
- From the organization that invites or manages you on the Platform
- Automatically when you use the Platform
- From third-party service providers and partners
Information You Provide to Us
When you create an account or use the Platform, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- ZIP code
- Profile information
- Event or activity participation details
- Content you post
- Communications with us and with organizations through the Platform
- Transaction or reward information, if applicable
If you contact an organization through a public interest form without creating an account, we collect the name, email address, phone number, and message you submit, and make them available to that organization.
If you administer an organization, we also collect information about that organization, such as its name, type, contact information, and other information it provides through the Platform.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser type.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use first-party cookies to authenticate users. You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings.
Email Communications
We may send you account-related email, such as messages necessary to set up and manage your account, and email related to activity on the Platform, such as updates from an organization you're part of. You may manage certain email preferences in your notification settings.

We use your personal information to:
- Provide and operate the Platform
- Enable event discovery and participation
- Communicate with you
- Personalize user experience
- Improve services
- Comply with legal obligations
04Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual or device, without restriction.
In addition, we may disclose personal information about you:
- To organizations you join or are added to, so administrators can manage your sign-ups, attendance, and related records.
- To contractors and service providers, that are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
- To our subsidiaries and affiliates.
- To donation recipients (when you make a donation).
- To event hosts when you join activities.
- To a company buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Company's assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Company about our users is among the assets transferred.
- To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
- To enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including our Terms of Service, and for billing and collection.
- If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
- To fulfil the purpose for which you provide it.
- For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
- With your consent.
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
The disclosures described in this section do not permit mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent to be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Additional terms governing SMS information are described below.
05SMS and Text Messaging
If you provide a mobile phone number and separately opt in through your notification settings, Meadow may send you SMS messages regarding volunteer opportunities and shift reminders. SMS notifications are disabled by default, are optional, and are not required to use the Platform.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help. You may also manage SMS notification preferences through your Meadow profile settings.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf solely as necessary to provide and deliver Meadow's messaging services. These service providers are not permitted to use this information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
06Data Retention
We retain personal information:
- As long as your account is active
- As long as necessary to provide services
- As required for legal compliance
- To resolve disputes
You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Records an organization holds for its own reporting may be retained by that organization.
07Your State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia) may have additional rights regarding our use of their personal information, including but not limited to:
- Access personal information
- Confirm whether we process their personal information
- Correct inaccuracies
- Delete personal information
- Obtain data portability
- Opt out of certain data processing and targeted advertising

08International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. You agree that your information may be transferred to a country which does not provide the same level of protection of personal data.
09Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information.
Staff members and any person involved in processing your personal information comply with internal rules and procedures related to personal data processing, particularly technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no system is completely secure and you should take all necessary precautions when sharing personal information on the Platform.
10Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Platform.
